The Sheep

I had an absolutely magical time in Sedbergh. As soon as I stepped out of the car and smelled the sheep pastures and wet grass, I knew I was far from the concrete jungle of Paris. With just one day of rain out of eight I beat the winter odds with room to spare! I didn't let this rare English weather pass me by either; I walked around or hiked nearly every day in some of the most beautiful rolling hills I've ever seen.

I thoroughly enjoyed the company of My Uncle Phaaps, Aunt Laura, and cousins Tom and Caroline. During my stay I did numerous things with my relatives. We went to an English Premier League football game, painted on canvas, made cut-out snowflakes, wrestled, walked the dog, went out for Indian food, had lots of tea and minced pies (and a delicious crumpet), played computer games, watched the Queen's Christmas Address, opened Christmas presents, ate too much of Aunt Laura's great cooking, drank too much wine, bought a Yorkshire flatcap (pictured in several photos), and did a great assortment of other ridiculously fun stuff. Their house at High Brigflats is warm and welcoming and there is never a dull moment. I know I will be back someday soon.
