Old Town Antibes
An Uplifting Experience

Nice blue lights in Nice
On day 2 I took a trip to Antibes, a beautiful little town sitting on the edge of the Mediterranean. There were massive train delays and I almost got on the wrong one but in the end I made it there safely. It was very windy in Antibes but I had a great time wandering through the streets of the old town. I came to an ancient sea wall built by greek fisherman many years before Jesus walked this earth. For some reason it called to me. I spend an hour sitting on this wall, enjoying a peaceful, content feeling that washed over me. The repetitive crash of the waves, the strong wind, the expanse of ocean in front of me, it filled me up. There were many emotions, but that's the only way I can say it, I was full. I continued down the coast to Jean les Pins, a more touristy trendy spot and enjoyed a long walk on the sandy beach there. I took refuge from the wind for a while in an old stone church, then watched the sun set back in Antibes and caught a train back to Nice. At the Hostel I met up with my three British football friends and we spent the night drinking beer and talking too loudly.
This is a video of my special seat on the old Antibes wall. I loved watching this boat rock back and forth.
